Thin paper designed for personal hygiene, cleaning, and medical sanitation purposes in daily life.
Available in a wide variety of types (see table), these products are generally single-use consumables intended to be discarded immediately after use. They are highly convenient to use and help prevent the transmission of diseases; consequently, their application within the medical and healthcare sectors has been steadily expanding. Since these papers are applied directly in daily life and medical settings, they must be clean, free of pathogenic bacteria, soft to the touch, and possess good absorbency as well as adequate dry and wet strength.
During the manufacturing and processing stages, this type of paper is typically imparted with fine creping to enhance its softness, absorbency, and appropriate surface roughness. Sanitary paper for daily use is typically white, though it may also be produced in various vivid colors or embossed with decorative patterns to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the product.
Depending on specific usage requirements and product grade, various fibrous raw materials may be utilized. High-grade papers typically employ cotton pulp or chemical pulp; mid-grade papers utilize chemical wood pulp, grass pulp, or mechanical wood pulp; while low-grade papers rely primarily on recycled paper pulp. Additionally, some papers may incorporate a proportion of synthetic fibers as needed.
